Successful Completion of Zhong Shan Da Xue Ji Di’s 2024 Arctic Voyage
Zhong Shan Da Xue Ji Di has successfully completed its 2024 Arctic Voyage (FACE2024) Led by Sun Yat-sen University, the voyage departed from Guangzhou on July 26 and returned on October 7, covering a total duration of 74 days and a journey of approximately 11,500 nautical miles, including 1,473 nautical miles within ice-covered regions. In total, 36 scientists from University Corporation for Polar Research (UCPR), participated this expedition. Throughout the journey, researchers conducted a series of multidisciplinary studies in the Arctic Ocean, focusing on sea-ice-atmosphere interactions and the retreat of the marginal ice zone. Their work spanned fields including remote sensing, oceanography, sea ice analysis, atmospheric studies, and geophysics.
Successful Hosting of the 2024 Polar Intelligent Detection Technology and Application Forum in Guangzhou
On October 8, 2024, the "Polar Intelligent Detection Technology and Application Forum" was successfully held in Guangzhou, bringing together more than 50 leading experts and scholars. The forum highlighted and reviewed the significant achievements of Zhong Shan Da Xue Ji Di’s 2024 Arctic Voyage.
